Daily Music Dose: Forgive Durden

Forgive durden is an experimental indie rock band from Seattle, Washington, and was formed in 2003. There name comes from the popular movie fight club. They are currently signed to indie label fueled by ramen, on which the band has realeased both of their full-length albums, Wonderland and Razia's Shadow: A Musical. The only full time member of the band is Thomas Dutton.

Forgive durden's music doesn't fit into just one genre. While their first album had solid elements of indie, rock and emo, the band's latests album takes inspiration from musicals more than anything, although there is still some hints of their original sound on some tracks.

The band's first album paved the way for a very promising career for the 4 piece, as their sound was similar to many other bands that were in the scene. Although tracks like A Dead Person Breathed On Me! and Ear To Ear gave the album a distinct flavour which set them apart from their rivals. But in 2008, front man Thomas Dutton announced on the band's official blog that the 3 other members of the band, Thomas Hunter (guitar), Jesse Bauer (bass) and Andy Mannino (drums) had decided to leave the band, due to personality conflicts. Dutton didn't want to end the band there and then, so with some creativity and planning, he released the band's second album.

Dutton recruited members of other bands to play parts on Razia's Shadow. Each band member he recruited, along with Dutton himself, played a certain character on the album, from the weary King Malka played by Nic Newsham from Gatsbys American Dream to the playful spider Barayas played by Max Bemis from Say Anything, if the A Hundred-Year, Minute-Long Intermission wasn't on the album, it would be hard to tell the two stories of the album apart as they flow so well.

Although the band has only recently become somewhat popular, they have been an underground favourite since their early days. In 2007 they were part of the 2nd announcement of bands for the Soundwave music festival, which is the Australian equivalent to the Warped tour, which signaled international success, but was also the start of the bands semi-split.

call the family, its time for analiese's first buzzversary!

one year ago on this day (i don't care what my FOE account says, i joined on the 9th of september, i freakin hate time zones!) i joined the site known to many as friendsorenemies.com, and 2 weeks later, started using buzznet. and now, its time for my very first FOE/buzzversary!

back then, i was just a little 13 year old (because my birthday is next week, so i was still 13. mark the 19th on your calenders!) and i didn't really know much about anything except fall out boy, my chemical romance, paramore and you me at six. and i can't believe how much i've grown in one year. i know its cheesy and over-said, but buzznet has really changed me and has become a huge part of my life. seriously, i became a buzznet original last month, i didn't even know what buzznet was this time last year! it was a huge thing for me! plus im not as moody and down as i was thanks to all the happy music i've been introduced to on here, like the maine and the summer set (:

another thing i never expected was the amount of e-buddies i've made on here from around the world. i think i've talked to someone from every continent (exculding antartica, although i really wanna talk to a penguin) at some point this past year. i feel very multi-cultural XP BIG SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY BUDDIES, YOU ALL KNOW WHO YOU ARE! (because i suck at linking, so yeah xP)

what else to say, hmm.....

oh! buzznet has really helped me find some of myself. if i hadn't joined this site, i wouldn't of realised how good i am at photography (im allowed to say that because really, i am good at it!) and that im actually a decent graphics artist, which has helped me make up my mind to what i want to do as a career and what i want to study at university. having strangers from all over the world look at my photos and comment on them has given my low self esteem a steady boost.

IMA BACK! im so original, buzznet told me so

first things first, im back in sydney after 4 days in melbourne, and second, IM AN OG! and if my stupid bus driver hadn't gotten us lost, i would of been able to see my name in the little box on the bottom of the homepage. grr ><

anyways, i was in melbourne, for those of you who didn't know. and i had a very historical time (such a good pun right?) because it was for elective history.

we stayed at some 3 star place, and it was alright, but so many stairs!! and we had the only guys in the corridor right across from us, including one guy who i dislike so much that now i like him...again >< stupid brain
